Primitive Doll Artist Lorraine Moore (Art Doll Quarterly, Fall,2009) has been teaching me how to machine quilt. The outer pockets on these cloth bags were my practice pieces. My theory is if you want to improve, do 1000. This is only a series of 25, but I'll do more.

Sequin Hearts Cards - Free Handmade Card Pattern by Louise Chisholm

SEQUIN HEART CARDS AN ORIGINAL DESIGN BY LOUISE CHISHOLM
4 cards available at $12.50 each
This card shows evolution of design process. First I sewed the straight lines around the edges. Then arrows and Xs, Hmmm-- they looked almost like language-- our way of reaching each other. I am dyslexic and can read backwards, forewards, upside down etc. To make the message obscure I inverted and reversed some letters. I thought they would be easy for others to read, bu t that was not so. So there is a translation attached to the back of each card.

SEQUIN HEART CARD PATTERN;; by Louise Chisholm. You may use this free design for your own work and pleasure. If you sell or publish, please give me design credit. It takes about 2 hours to make each card.

Materials: discarded beaded garments, blank cards and envelopes, watercolour paper, 90lb. (Canson mi-tientes), thread, beads, sequins, stuffing, white glue.
